News and Notes:
THANKS: Thank you to all the parents and students who have made this year a great one! I wish everyone a warm, sunny, and joyous summer!
BOWLING: Our bowling field trip will be from 9am-11am on Monday, June 1st. Every student must bring a cold sack lunch that day.
MATTER: Our matter presentation (in class field trip) will be on the afternoon of Monday, June 1st.
BOAT TRIP: Our Chicago boat trip/field trip will be on Tuesday, June 2nd. We will leave school at approximately 9am, and we won't return until 2pm. There is a lot of walking required on this field trip, so please make sure you child is wearing comfortable socks and shoes. Also, the weather on Lake Michigan can be quite unpredictable. I suggest dressing layers. It is always easy to pull off a hoodie sweatshirt and tie it around your waste. If they are calling for rain, the best thing to wear would be a light rain proof jacket with a hood. Every student must bring in a cold, disposable, sack lunch on Tuesday, June 2nd. Please make sure the lunch sack is disposable. The bag will be thrown away after lunch. Lastly, each student may bring $5-$10 to spend on Navy Pier for ice cream and/or small gifts. Please do not send more than $10 with your child.
PICNIC: Our 3rd grade picnic will be on Thursday, June 4th from 8:30am-10am. A hot dog lunch will be provided at 11:05am. If your child does not want to eat a hog dog, please send them with an alternate cold lunch. There will not be cafeteria hot lunch service.
YEARBOOKS: Yearbooks will be handed out to students on June 5th. Any students who did not purchase a yearbook may do so on a first-come-first-serve basis on June 5th; they will go on sale after morning announcements. The cost will be $10.00, and children wishing to purchase should have the exact amount. Checks can be made out to Prairieview. There is a limited supply. Prairieview yearbook orders were not paid for at registration. A flyer was sent out on November 13, 2008 and orders were due by Monday, December 1, 2008.
DONATIONS: We are working with several organizations who help provide less fortunate school children with school supplies. I will take any used school supplies you wish to donate. Please send these in before the last day of school.
LAST DAY: Our last day of school will be on Friday, June 5th. Report cards will be issued, and the students will be dismissed at 9:30am.
